You can schedule LinkedIn posts in two ways: with LinkedIn's own scheduler, or with a scheduling tool. Both let you write now and publish later. This guide shows both and when each makes sense.
Option 1: schedule a post on LinkedIn itself
- Click Start a post and write your post.
- Click the clock icon at the bottom of the post box.
- Pick a date and time, then click Next.
- Click Schedule. Your post is queued and will publish automatically.
This is fine for an occasional post. The limits: you plan one post at a time, you cannot see all your posts on a calendar, and there is no AI to help you write.
Option 2: use a LinkedIn post scheduler
A scheduler connects to your LinkedIn account through LinkedIn's official login and publishes for you. The big benefit is planning: you write a week or a month in one sitting, see it on a calendar, and stop thinking about posting every day.
- Write and queue many posts in one session (batching).
- See gaps on a visual content calendar and fill them.
- Get a status for every post, with a retry if LinkedIn has an outage.
- Draft with AI, then edit with a live preview.
