A LinkedIn carousel is a PDF that people swipe through inside the feed. Get the size right and it looks sharp on every phone. Get it wrong and text is tiny or cropped. Here are the specs people use most.
LinkedIn can change its rules, so check the upload preview before you publish.
LinkedIn carousel specs
| Spec | Recommended |
|---|---|
| File format | PDF (a LinkedIn document post) |
| Best size, portrait | 1080 x 1350 px (4:5) |
| Square option | 1080 x 1080 px (1:1) |
| Max file size | About 100 MB |
| Max pages | About 300 (aim for 6 to 12) |
| Fonts | Large and clear, readable on a phone |
Portrait or square?
Portrait (1080 x 1350) takes up more of a phone screen, so it usually stands out more in the feed. Square is safe and works well everywhere. Pick one size and use it for the whole carousel. Mixing sizes looks messy.
Design tips that matter more than size
- Slide 1 is the hook. Big, short headline. It does the same job as the first line of a post.
- One idea per slide. If you need to zoom, the text is too small.
- Keep margins. Leave space around the edges so nothing is cropped.
- Last slide asks for one action: follow, comment or visit a link.
Make a carousel without a design tool
You do not need to fight with a design app. Read how to turn text or a PDF into a carousel in one click, or try the ViralPosts carousel maker, which writes the slides with AI and exports a LinkedIn-ready PDF.
AI writes the slides, you pick the design, and ViralPosts exports and publishes the PDF.
